Time to redo your vinyl floor

Time to redo your vinyl floor
  • Carpet and Upholstery

It has been stated before in other blog posts on this website but repeating it doesn’t make it any less true: a floor can make or break the aesthetic appeal of your entire room. So it is vital that you take good care of your floor. If your floor is vinyl, it requires a bit of special care that is different from other floor types. The Tile and Stone Specialists have written this blog post to outline a few tips.

General Cleaning

This is obvious for any type of flooring, really. Vacuum and clean the floor at least once a week and take care not to leave scratches on the floor.

Mats and Rugs

Use cleverly placed mats and rugs to protect part of or most of your vinyl from harm’s way. If this is done smartly enough, your floor and thus your entire room will look sophisticated and special.

Cleaning methods

Unlike other floors, vinyl floors are a bit sensitive. You cannot expect to blast away from vinyl floor surfaces. You have to caress it. Therefore, it will save you a lot of time and labour if you clean the floor weekly. And once a month, gently scrub the floor with a mild cleaner and a soft brush. Be careful not to use too much water because this might damage your vinyl floor. Use “no-wax” agents to shine the floor.

Scratches

Make sure your furniture is fitted with protection around the legs to prevent scratching on your floor. Pets with long nails can also cause scratches, so keep your pets well-groomed. If you see that none of these techniques are making your vinyl floor any better, it’s probably time to redo or replace it. We can help you do that. We have the best team on the Sunshine Coast to deal with anything associated with vinyl floors, tile sealing, or cleaning tile floors.
